Nestled at the foot of the beautiful Trinity Alps Wilderness, Weaverville (pop. 3,308) has so much outdoor enjoyment to offer along with history of the old West.

Founded in 1850, Weaverville is a historic California Gold Rush town and was once home to approximately 2,000 Chinese gold miners. It even had its very own Chinatown. A lot of history lies in Weaverville, and the downtown area still proudly displays the old west heritage.

Aside from its mining history, Weaverville is rich in natural beauty. The Trinity Alps brings epic wild and scenic hiking and backpacking, while the Trinity River boasts world class fly fishing and rafting. Trinity Lake to the north, satisfies holiday makers and weekend warriors with fishing, swimming, boating. And, right in town there are miles of cross country and downhill mountain biking, hiking, running, and equestrian trails, plus hundreds of miles of scenic dirt roads that connect to even more remote lakes and streams; an exploration paradise!

Historical places, beautiful scenery, great outdoor adventure, a friendly small-town atmosphere and much more await you here.

The LaGrange Classic Race is located within walking distance from the historic town of Weaverville. At a starting elevation of 2051 feet, our race courses are located in the Weaver Basin Trail System, host of the 2015 World Endurance Mountain Bike Organization (WEMBO) 24 Hour Solo World Championships. Race routes will include mixed conifer forests, oak woodlands, historic mining ditches, and challenging single track. You are in for a treat!
