Race Overview
The 2023 LaGrange Classic Mountain Bike Race in Weaverville. Three courses, Long, Intermediate and Short, will be the sites of a traditional one-day race on Saturday, June 3, 2023. On Saturday, event organizers, the Trinity Trail Alliance, are looking forward to presenting a pre-race downtown procession, a challenging one-day mountain bike race on the Weaver Basin Trail System and a celebration at Lowden Park in the afternoon.
First, some new and thrilling changes have been made to the 30-mile Long Course and the 22-mile Intermediate Course. These new sections were planned and constructed in 2021 and have become favorites among local and visiting bike riders. Each of these races will include an uphill push on the new Browder Trail and downhill thrills on the new Blue Lead Trail. Trinity Trail Alliance hopes to provide a fun and challenging experience that riders will enjoy and want to visit again. The 14-mile Short Course will remain similar to last year. Racers may sign-up for a race, purchase T-shirts and reserve campsites at Bikereg.com after January 2023 . Lowden Park will again be the location for fun weekend activities and camping, along with the awards ceremony after the race on Saturday, June 3rd. Each year TTA has made efforts to improve the park event . Camping and RV parking will be available in Lowden Park during the race weekend for mountain bike racers and can be reserved on Bikereg.com. USFS campsites in Trinity County may be reserved at Recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777. TTA works in coordination with the US Forest Service and other community services and organizations to make the best race event possible. This event is operating under a special uses permit with the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. All courses are on public trails, which will remain open to trail users during the race. Please keep alert for walkers, runners, equestrian riders, and other riders. All trails are multi-use and bidirectional. Be considerate and be prepared to yield (IMBA Responsible Riding) to other users. Caution - on every course expect sections of tight single track that will make passing problematic. On the race routes, you will ride through conifer forests and oak woodlands, on historic mining ditches and challenging single track trails. We made every effort to avoid forest roads. The course will be well signed but you must pay attention as all three race courses overlap. The Weaver Basin Trail System was the location of the very successful World Endurance Mountain Bike Organization (WEMBO) 24 Hour Solo World Championships in 2015. So expect an exciting ride! Register online at Bikereg.comRegister early on BikeReg for the Long, Intermediate, or Short. Early registration (Feb 1 to April 15) is discounted and includes a meal/drink coupon (to be used on June 3rd only) and a t-shirt. Registration between April 16 and May 21 is discounted and includes a June 3rd food and drink coupon. Late registration (on May 22 to June 2) is not discounted and includes a June 3rd food and drink coupon.
Riders may pick up their race ID and swag bag at Lowden Park on Friday evening, June 2 or on Saturday, June 3rd . Be ready to ride by 8:30 am on Saturday. Reserve RV and camp sites (as available) and/or purchase T-shirts (while supplies last) on bikegreg.com when you register. T-shirts may be available for purchase at Lowden Park on June 2nd and 3rd while supplies last.
